Cameras, storage, editing systems and delivery formats continually evolve. Buying equipment is therefore not only about choosing the newest specification; it is about deciding whether a tool genuinely improves the work being produced.

The HD-to-4K question

In 2015, 1920×1080 HD was well established while 4K displays and cameras were becoming more accessible. The extra resolution was impressive, but it also brought larger files, heavier editing requirements and questions about how clients would actually view the finished work.

Tools should serve the project

The underlying principle still applies: technology is useful when it helps capture or deliver a project better. New equipment can be exciting, but the quality of the story, camera work, sound and edit remains more important than a specification on a box.
